Collection: Lusine Manukyan

Hello my name is Lusine, I moved from Armenia to Canada when I was 13.
At AUArts I felt compelled to make work about my hybrid identity, which felt liberating.
I started making artwork about the genocide and retelling familial stories. I’m inspired by the consistently beautiful and ornate aesthetics of Khachkars, carpets and the Armenian Alphabet.
I’m interested in making work that preserves history, and I hope the designs I make contribute to you feeling connected to your roots.
