Anaheed is a sustainable and ethical menswear designer from Sydney, currently living in Armenia. She designs from lived experience, referencing themes around the human condition and portraying them in a tangible context. Her favourite stories are from Armenian folklore, Greek mythology and all that exists in between. In her personal practice, she reclaims archival textiles and implements them in contemporary silhouettes. She believes in design that invokes an emotive response and connects the wearer to the audience and the self.
Most of all Anaheed seeks to create fashion futures where people dress intuitively in response to mood. In her understanding, fashion is not different to film, or painting or song, in that the artist may have a story to tell, but the audience will attach stories too. Anaheed's Tatik designs are a creative response to places she has been and still dwells in spiritually as a diaspora Armenian.
